Have you tried liver aid by liverite? I believe you can get it at gnc. I've seen testimonials where people have achieved normal liver test results from using it. Also alpha lipoic acid? You may want to try to find a chinese herbalist or an ayurvedic practitioner. You may want to research Dr. Gerson's therapy. I believe there is a web site.
Best of luck to you.

Hi Patrick, I am sorry to hear about your condition. My Husband was just put on the liver transplant list @ Emory (in Atlanta) today! Have you found anything that helps you? I hope you pull through Cindy

Milk thistle extract, or crushed dried seeds taken as a tea (1 tsp soaked in hot water for 10 minutes, taken twice a day for two weeks, and then afterwards twice a week) can protect liver and help it regenerate from alcoholic chirrosis damage. I found this out while doing research for my baby cousin who has congenital problems. Milk thistle (latin name silybum marianum) has been used for thousands of years for helping the liver.

You would want to research this because I'm not sure about doing cleanses with this condition. Check out the master cleanser. I read the book and did the cleanse-it claims to rid the body of any disease. Check it out, don't give up. And, natural and organic is the way to go!

comfrey root contains 7 nasty alkaloids that are known to cause hepatoxic liver failure. Some hybrids of comfrey (syphytum uplandicum for example) have the toxins in the leaves, too. I'm a big fan of comfrey, but the roots are toxic. I wouldn't take the risk.

I agree with the reply about ayuervedic or Chinese medicines. Haven't tried any ayeurvedic but sent for some Chinese a couple of months ago for self and a couple of family remedies. We've become thoroughly disappointed in all of the prescription, man-made meds in this country that just don't seem to work. Sometimes the side-effects are worse than the original problem.
My son was helped overnight with lower back pain that his Dr. had been treating with opiates. He's weaned himself off the opiates and the Chinese medicine is all he now needs. Another relative had high blood pressure that just wouldn't even out–for years. A month with Chinese herbs and she's doing great.

hello, this is an old post but just found this site and wanted to answer your question.
Here it is:
1) Millk thistle, 2) Dandelion. Use the milk thistle in the form of tablets or tea , use the Dandelion in the form of tea. My father was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis. liver cancer and given 6 months to live that was 8 years ago and he is still here. You should also modify your diet. Cut out red meat for a while and try to eat whole foods(brown rice ect.) also no chicken unless organic (the hormones alone are horrific. Also Salmon fish. very good 2 to 3 times per week. Another friend of mine had liver issues and was put on the transplant list on a Wednsday the next day my Dr. friend and I went to visit him with some milk thistle tincture. By friday (yes only one day, the doctor told him his liver enzymes were looking better. By Sunday of the same week, he was discharged from the hospital and released. He then returned to work. Good luck, you can heal your liver it is the most regenerative organ in the human body.
