Alternative Name: colic root, star grass, true unicorn root

Unicorn Root - aletris farinosa - This root is used mostly in the treatment of miscarriages, it has a tonic effect on the female organs. Decoctions have also been used to relieve flatulence and treat uterine problems. It is anti-inflammatory, diuretic, bitter, narcotic and tonic. Raw Unicorn Root is emetic.
